We aim to create opportunities in which our children are in charge of their own learning. We aim to ensure all children are allowed to explore, develop their own thoughts, ideas, and identities & to ensure curiosity is an innate drive in children, to explore and find out information and knowledge.

Our educators will continue to be inspired and excited about Early Years Education therefore, allowing them to unleash their inner child and see a child’s world through new wondrous eyes.
We will strive to create beautiful, inspirational play spaces for children in order to feed their curiosity, creativity and to spark ‘awe’ and ‘wonder’. We will endeavour to ensure that every child in our nurseries will be given the same opportunities to gain the essential knowledge to be educated citizens.
Using quality toys, natural materials, loose parts & authentic resources in order to provide open ended play opportunities supporting children to develop their skills & knowledge in all 7 Areas of Learning covered in the EYFS.
We will ensure that all children’s development needs are planned for on an individual basis & that our Provocations to Play will record how the educator is going support the children to develop their planned ‘Next Steps’ or follow their interests & that our Invitations to Learning will support the child’s curiosity or entice the children to further exploration and investigation.
We will continually reflect on the children’s learning weekly & formally monitor children’s progress on a termly basis, feeding back that information to parents & planning new termly Next Steps. Our parents will be made to feel welcome to engage in their children’s learning at any opportunity.
In order to monitor the impact of our children’s Early Years Education we will observe our happy, confident & inquisitive learners as well as ensuring each child makes significant progress depending on their individual ability. We will seek support, advice & guidance for any child who may require extra support with their learning. We work in partnership with local schools to share information about a child’s development when they are ready to move in in their next stage of education. Our settings will use some methods of data analyse to measure the learning journeys of our children.

Whilst we understand that all our children are individuals who develop & learn at their own pace as registered childcare providers is it our responsibility to ensure your child makes significant progress in their development whilst attending nursery. In order to achieve this we follow the governments Early Years Foundation Stage Guidance document (EYFS).
The EYFS is a framework for learning, development and care for children from birth to five years. It is used to support nursery staff (practitioners) in meeting the needs and progression of each individual child within the setting. We believe that children benefit most from Early Years Education and Care when parents work together in partnership with childcare providers, as we all know that parents are their child’s first educator. All children should be able to play and learn in an environment full of opportunities with adults who understand and care about the whole needs of the child & their family.
It is our aim to ensure that all parents feel confident in being involved in their child’s development whilst at nursery & we heavily support parents who wish to visit the nursery, participate in activities or wish to discuss their child’s progress. Play is vital for children, it’s through play that babies and young children learn, grow, develop new skills and have fun. Play & children having opportunities to ‘take risks’ helps them to understand the world around them and to develop socially and emotionally happy children are confident learners. It is important to remember that each child is unique and no two children will follow exactly the same pathway of development, all children do things at very different ages and stages of their development.
Observing these stages in playing and learning are very important if your child is going to be able to make good progress in their development. Sound recordings of these stages will show if a child needs particular support in a specific area of their development or to provide more challenging opportunities, should a child show an interest in something individually.
How do you know how your child is doing? Practitioners are able to track how your child is progress and development by observing, recording, planning & tracking.
Daily staff will observe children in their play, take photographs, write observations & record children's conversations, from these recordings staff will plot children's progress on a termly basis & then plan 1/2 termly 'Next Steps' which are small goals that are set in order to support children's further developments.
Parents are given ask to contribute & given copies of these Next Steps so they can be fully included in their children's learning. We have an Open Door Policy so parents are invited to communicate with staff on a daily basis & to feel comfortable to ask on how they can support their child's Next Steps at home.
When a child leaves the nursery to go to school or an alternative provider, we forward a copy of your child's Developmental Overview to the school so they are aware of your child's level of development, this means that new assessments are not required which should mean your child's transition to school is seamless & teachers can work on your child's Next Steps too. Profiles are forwarded to parents, but we do ask for you to forward these for a short while for your child's new educator so they can get to know your child's developmental journey.

Children or families needing 'a little more support'
As we all know some children at times require additional support to enable them to make progress in their development, here at Aspiring Minds Nurseries our Admissions Policy does not discriminate from any child or family who would need a 'bit extra support' whether this is due to a medical need, English as an additional language, supported by outside agencies, disability or due to difficulties with social interaction.
It is our belief that every child & family has the right to access or services & our non-judgemental approach to supporting families has been commended by Ofsted in our inspection reports.
We may however need to obtain further information in order to ensure we are providing 'holistic care & support' therefore we ask parents to be as open as possible with sharing information & we may need to complete further documentation such as Healthcare or Education Plans before your child commences at the setting.
Working with Parents
We believe that children benefit most from Early Years Education and Care when parents work together in partnership with childcare providers, as we all know that parents are their child’s first educator. All children should be able to play and learn in an environment full of opportunities with adults who understand and care about the whole needs of the child & their family. It is our aim to ensure that all parents feel confident in being involved in their child’s development whilst at nursery & we heavily support parents who wish to visit the nursery, participate in activities or wish to discuss their child’s progress. We are committed in building a two way, professional relationship with parents in an atmosphere of honesty & mutual respect.
We ensure parents are fully kept up to date in all aspects of their child's day. Daily diaries for younger children will log the care needs of the children such as nappy changes & sleep logs, however staff will really want to inform you of all the fun your child has had during the day & support you with sharing their experiences. We have an 'Open Door Policy' for our parents, where they are welcome at any time to Stay & Play or speak to their child's Key Worker.
We also encourage siblings & grandparents to take part in planned activates & outings in order to integrate nursery into the family unit.
We support our parents to become more familiar with the nursery & the staff who will be caring for their child by offering FREE settling in sessions. Your Childcare Manager can discuss these sessions with you when you register. We activity encourage that you spend time with your child at the nursery, so you child see's that you are also comfortable in this new environment & see's that you have 'relationships' with the adults here.
Upon enrolment, parents are given a Parents Handbook which we feel is a great way to reaffirm our policies, procedures & ethos of the nursery, so If you chose to use our services whilst you access work or training or to enable your child to have the opportunity to have preschool education, you can be rest assured that at a Aspiring Minds your child is in the very best hands.
